Visitation Rights - Usual Arrangements

This section highlights the usual pattern of visitation between the non-custodial parent (the one the child does not live with) and the minor. In practice, the mother is usually the custodial parent (the one the child lives with) and the father is the non-custodial parent, exercising visitation rights.  Different arrangements can be decided by the court, or by the parents who can make a written agreement on this issue. See also 'Child Custody'.
